Link ICT specialists Matthew Jackson, Danielle Poulter and Mark Berridge in training to teach the LEGO learning system to schools.

We are delighted to announce that Link ICT has been appointed as a reseller of LEGO® Education products and will be working with the Getech, a UK LEGO Education distributor accredited to offer training sessions to resellers.

So far, we are the only reseller in the East Midlands to complete the LEGO Education products training and onboarding process. This means that Link ICT will be able to help train pre-school, primary and secondary schools teachers in the East Midlands so they can add The LEGO Learning System to their curriculum.

LEGO Education Solutions provide a wide range of hands-on and digital educational resources that encourage pupils to think creatively, reason systematically and release their potential to shape their own future. The products are a perfect way of taking pre-schoolers through the five key learning areas that are important for early childhood development and teaching them skills to prepare for school.

In primary schools, LEGO Education Solutions provide the engaging, hands-on experiences students need to explore core Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics  (STEAM) concepts and link them to real-life, helping them develop essential communication, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking-skills in a fun and exciting way.

In secondary schools, the system can help teachers to save time on (STEAM) lesson planning while giving students the inspiration, tools and knowledge to explore.

Commenting on their appointment, Link ICT Managing Director Mark Fryers said, “Our team really enjoyed taking part in the training and understanding each product. It was stimulating and fun and we are looking forward to engaging with schools in our region to help them add LEGO Education Solutions to their curriculum. We have always enjoyed being on-site with our service users and helping them to understand and take advantage for IT and technology they have to available and becoming a reseller of LEGO Education products is a testament to our knowledge and understanding of the needs of this sector.”

This is not the only time we have been ‘first’ to introduce technological advances that help schools improve the student experience. We were also the first to introduce unique software, called School Transition which reduces the administrative burden of transferring pupil records when they move to a new school. The School Transition software was piloted and successfully adopted by all schools in Derby City and a number of other nationwide local education authorities are set to roll out the software ready for their next academic year.
